Program Description

Description

Everyone, both young and old, needs an estate plan. Your life circumstances can change in an instant! If they do, are you prepared? Do you want to be on life support? If you have minor children, what will happen to them if something happens to you? Who will pay your bills if you can’t? And if you pass away, how will your estate be divided among your heirs? If you don’t have a plan in place, the State of Connecticut will make some of these decisions for you! Would you want that to happen? In this program, you’ll learn about important estate planning documents like Powers of Attorney and Healthcare Directives that you can create to make sure your wishes are met and your family knows how to care for you when you can’t care for yourself.

Presenter Attorney Colleen Masse is a West Hartford resident and an estate planning and special needs planning attorney with the elder law firm Czepiga Daly Pope & Perri. She earned her Juris Doctorate from UConn Law School, is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, and is a board member of the North Central Area Agency on Aging.
