Music historian Jeffrey Engel will explore four more operas of the Metropolitan Opera’s 2018-2019 season in this interactive discussion series.


Engel, a music professor at Northwestern Connecticut Community College who has played cello with the Paris Opera, will play songs from each opera, talk about the historical context, composer and story to give attendees a deeper understanding of the piece. The schedule coincides with the Metropolitan Opera’s global broadcast of the performances, including cinemas in Connecticut.
