The God of the Woods is a historical fiction mystery set in the Adirondack Mountains in 1975, revolving around the disappearance of Barbara Van Laar from her family's summer camp. The story is layered with secrets about the wealthy Van Laar family and the community that works for them, including the previous disappearance of Barbara's older brother, Bear, years earlier. The novel explores themes of family, inheritance, identity, and second chances, as well as the tensions between the privileged Van Laars and the working-class community.
