Finding the ideal Senior Living Community is a complex process. Every community is a little different in the care they provide, its culture, activities, and amenities they offer.  How do you know which community is right for you?  We will discuss things to look for in a community and questions to ask on a tour. We will also discuss the costs and what they do and do not include. With the proper estate plan, you can ensure that these costs don’t become a burden to your loved ones. If you currently own any assets, now is the time to protect those assets by having a will or trust prepared. With the proper estate plan, you can designate where you want your assets to go, have a loved one help you with making daily decisions such as managing your accounts, or even have someone designated to make health care decisions for you in the event you are unable to make those decisions on your own. Find out what you will need to have the right estate plan in place before you make a move to your new home.

Attorney Ray Colla, a Connecticut native, graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with honors in 1997 and was admitted to the Connecticut bar that same year. Upon graduating, Ray entered the legal world in downtown Hartford, where he practiced at several large, highly-regarded law firms, initially practicing in the area of corporate finance and then moving into estate planning, business planning, and probate, which he still greatly enjoys. From Ray’s perspective, these areas of the law are the most rewarding to practice in, affording him the opportunity to make a positive and long-lasting impact on his client’s lives, and to help them plan for their future as well as the futures of their children and grandchildren.

Liz Cornish is a Physical Therapist, Certified Dementia Practitioner, and the owner of New Season In Life, LLC, a company that specializes in guiding seniors and their families through the maze of Assisted Living and Memory Care in Connecticut in order to find the best community for each individual. Liz’s passion for helping seniors stems from her more than 30 years of experience as a Physical Therapist. Liz has worked in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals and skilled nursing homes; however, she has spent most of her years providing Physical Therapy to seniors in their homes. This has provided Liz the opportunity to work in the majority of Senior Living Communities throughout Connecticut providing her insight and extensive knowledge of each of the Senior Living Communities.
