Description
In collaboration with the West Hartford Public Libraries, the West Hartford Special Education PTO Presents:
Understanding Dyslexia and Other Reading Struggles
Parents of struggling readers may wonder if their child's difficulties with reading are the result of dyslexia but might not be sure what to look for, or how the school team identifies and supports students with dyslexia. In this presentation, Migdalia Fletcher, M.S. CCC-SLP and Melissa Caballero will discuss learner characteristics and dyslexia risk indicators, explore the district's dyslexia screening, assessment, and intervention processes, and share practical strategies and resources for parents to support all students who struggle with reading. Meets on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:00 pm in the Noah Webster Library Meeting Room.
