Description
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, or CPR, if performed immediately, can double or even triple a cardiac arrest victim's chance of survival. Hands-Only CPR (ie CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths) can be as effective as conventional CPR for cardiac arrests but must be done correctly to be successful. Learn the simple steps you can perform to give someone their best chance of surviving a cardiac arrest.
In addition, we will demonstrate the process of using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), another critical link in the cardiac arrest Chain of Survival.
Lastly, we will discuss basic actions to stop life-threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies.
CPR. AED. Stop the Bleed. Save a Life.
This course will be taught by Bob Hilborn, a member of West Hartford's Office of Emergency Management and Leader of West Hartford's Community Emergency Response Team. He is also a nationally-registered EMT and instructor at the New Britain EMS Academy. So, he apparently likes it when stuff goes wrong...but truly enjoys helping people get through their toughest of times.
