Little Women, published 150 years ago, still resonates with so many people today. The tale of four sisters growing up during the civil war is an engrossing story that illuminates many issues that we still grapple with in the 21st century. Gender roles, women’s aspirations, sibling rivalry and familial relationships are just a few of the themes that Louisa May Alcott incorporates. We will touch upon the biographical elements of the book and reflect on why they sometimes mirror and sometimes contradict the actual experiences of the author.
Come if you love Little Women and come if you don’t. Participants are urged to bring their own interpretations, insights and criticism and join what promises to be a lively conversation.
PARKING: There is ample library event parking in the nearby Isham Garage. Please bypass the garage kiosks and come directly to the Noah Webster Library Meeting Room, 20 South Main Street, where you may validate your parking with your license plate number.
