Description
Decorate your lamps and light up your homes for Diwali. Celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, with this workshop for ages 6-12. Participants will learn legends and traditions of Diwali celebrated by the Indian diaspora; a song in Carnatic classical style honoring the festival; and a terracotta lamp decoration project that can be used for Diwali celebrations. This program is provided by Layavinyasa.
Founded in 2010 by Sarada Nori, an exponent of Kuchipudi dance and Carnatic music, Layavinyasa is a woman-led organization that builds bridges between people of different cultures and forges new paradigms using Indian art forms.
