Join music historian Jeffrey Engel as he explores the life of world-renowned composer George Gershwin. 

Critical opinion of Gershwin ranges from “he was immensely gifted” to “Rhapsodie in Blue is junk music.” Fortunately, the general public pays little heed to the words of the so-called experts and for it Gershwin remains as popular as ever. Engel will detail Gershwin’s life and play excerpts of his music to show why he is such a beloved figure.
