TUESDAY MAY 29 - Join music educator and composer Dr. Wayne Pierce for informative and interactive preview presentation of Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s (HSO) 2017-2018 Masterworks Series concerts. The HSO series concludes with Orff’s Carmina Burana: Festival of Fate and Samuel Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915.
The library preview on Tuesday, May 29, will feature soprano Lisa Williamson.
About Lisa Williamson
Lisa Williamson has performed nationally with Washington National Opera, Portland Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, and the Sanibel Music Festival, and throughout the state with Opera Theater of Connecticut, Salt Marsh Opera, Connecticut Concert Opera, and Hartford Opera Theater. She has been a soloist with the New Haven, Hartford, and Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestras, the Hartt School Wind Ensemble, and most recently with the New Haven Symphony Pops singing Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. As a recitalist she has presented programs at The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University and with the Weill Music Institute’s The Song Continues with Marilyn Horne at Carnegie Hall. From 2005-2010, she was the vocal soloist with U.S. Coast Guard Band, twice performing the National Anthem at the Indianapolis 500 and in concert throughout the U.S. and Japan.
