Program Description

Description

Please note that this program will be in person at the Noah Webster Library.

Join us for a discussion about West Hartford's waste crisis, and an upcoming opportunity to cut our trash in half. The Sustainable West Hartford Commission's Waste Working Group will share a presentation and hold a Q&A about Fair Trash Reduction in our town.

Rachael Virgin is a member of our town's Sustainable West Hartford Commission. Within this volunteer organization, she chairs the Waste Working Group, a dream team of commissioners and other residents who work to reduce our town's waste.

Rachael served previously on West Hartford's Sustainability Advisory Group. She is also a board member of Chorus Angelicus, and has served for many years in church organizations. She has a background in the performing arts, education, and marketing, and is an active concert violinist throughout the state. She has lived in West Hartford for 24 years- long enough to remember the metal trash cans we used to put out at the curb! She and her husband are raising two children, who know more than their fair share about municipal waste policy.
