Description
The New Yorker magazine discussion group meets at 11:00am on Fridays at the Noah Webster Library, 20 South Main St., in West Hartford Center. We gather in the Board Room on the uppermost level, the mezzanine. Each discussion is facilitated by a member of our corps of volunteer moderators. No reservations required.
All who have read the issue are invited to attend. Simply show up just before 11:00am on Friday and take a seat (the library opens at 10:00am). Bring a beverage or quiet snack, if you like. Being on time is appreciated!
The previous week’s issue of The New Yorker is discussed, that is, not the issue currently on the newsstand on Friday. Discussing the previous week's issue allows more time for distributing and reading the magazine. The discussion lasts 90 minutes - starting at 11:00am and ending at 12:30pm.
If The New Yorker interests you, please read it, then join us. PARKING available in the nearby Isham Garage - go directly to the library to validate parking (do not validate at pay stations in the parking garage).
For West Hartford residents, The New Yorker magazine is now available online via the library's emagazine subscriptions, suitable for any internet-connected device or computer. A limited number of copies of each New Yorker are distributed at the end of each meeting to those who will attend the next meeting.
Online and print copies of The New Yorker are provided with funding from the library's Thomas F. Kilfoil Memorial Bequest. For more info about the discussion series, please call the library's Information Desk at 860.561.6990.
