Tuesday, October 2 - Strategies for a Sustainable Income in Retirement, a free educational workshop, will be presented at the West Hartford Public Library, 20 South Main Street in West Hartford, on Tuesday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. The workshop will include ideas and strategies to use in preparing for longevity, rising interest rates, increasing medical and long-term care costs, how recent changes in the tax laws may affect your retirement income, timing of when to take your social security and tackling investment risks and market volatility.

The informational workshop will be presented by the Society for Financial Awareness (S.O.F.A.), a nationwide not-for-profit educational speaker’s bureau that provides free financial workshops in local communities. The speakers for the evening will be Chad Burroughs, Director of the Northwest Corner Chapter and Kathryn Dennen, member. 

Mr. Burroughs is also President of Burroughs Investment Group, with over 34 years of experience in the industry.  Mr. Burroughs and Ms. Dennen are both frequent speakers on financial planning, including retirement income planning as well as investments, insurance and estate planning.

PARKING: There is ample library event parking in the nearby Isham Garage. Please bypass the garage kiosks and come directly to the Noah Webster Library Meeting Room, 20 South Main Street, where you may validate your parking with your license plate number.
