TeenProgram Description
Description
Grades 8-12: Teens will learn how to design a fun and small project (a tag with their name on it that can attach to their backpack) using the free computer-aided design (CAD) website TinkerCad. Then they will have the opportunity to print their object for free on the Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ 3D printer at the Noah Webster Library’s Studio 20 South.
After they have learned how to use the equipment, teens who are interested in future 3D printing projects can reserve the Studio for up to 3 hours per day. They can either supply their own filament to print or use the filament provided by the library at a cost of $2 for up to 50 grams of filament, then 10 cents per gram for each additional gram.
This program is brought to you by the 2023-2024 West Hartford Libraries Teen Advisory Board.
