Description

What Chair Would You Be?

For grades 4-7

Chairs have their own personalities. How would you design a chair that describes you?

Create a unique collage of your favorite chair using mixed media and book text. Van Gogh painted his chair like he painted a portrait, but used ordinary objects instead. His chair was simple, rustic, and modest; the way he saw himself. We will use collage with book text, rubber stamps and stencils. Registration required.

We will have a few classic texts printed out, including copies of the handwritten note Van Gogh used for the study of this painting, but please feel free to bring a copy of your favorite book if you'd like!
