Program Description

Description

Susan Strecker, the award-winning author of NIGHT BLINDNESS and NOWHERE GIRL (Thomas Dunne Books), will host a writing workshop on Thursday, March 1st from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Noah Webster Library in West Hartford (20 Main Street, West Hartford, CT). Writing novels, especially an author’s first, can feel overwhelming and difficult to keep on track and finish. Susan will discuss, step-by-step, eight tips and tricks for writing a novel. Some guidelines include finishing the first draft before polishing and letting the novel rest before beginning the first major rewrite.

Susan will help the group understand the importance of hooking the reader and will hear from any member who wants to share his or her work. Writers of all experience and ability levels are welcome.

Please feel free to bring your laptop or a pad and a pencil to take notes.
