About the Book
Set during World War II, the novel follows two childhood friends—Hannah, a Jewish woman imprisoned in the Theresienstadt camp, and Hilde, now aligned with the Nazi propaganda machine—whose lives converge in a tense reunion amid the camp’s brutal reality and a staged “model ghetto” façade. As Hannah risks everything to subvert the Nazi propaganda film from within, Hilde wrestles with her own ambition, loyalty, and conscience as she slowly begins to question the regime she once so fervently supported.
About the Author
Jennifer Coburn is the author of the USA Today bestseller The Girls of the Glimmer Factory, and Cradles of the Reich, historical novels about the strength of women's friendship and the connections that can be forged during even the most harrowing of times.
Registration required. Registration opens one month before the program at 7:00pm.
