Description
Grades 2-5 & caregivers: Janice Hechter’s Where Are the Women? The Girl Scouts' Campaign for the First Statue of Women in Central Park is a powerful, true story about young girls making a big impact. When a group of New York City Girl Scouts learn that there are no statues of women in Central Park, they organize and combine force in a quest to change that. What started out as a discovery on a field trip turned into a four-year process that emphasized the importance of perseverance and determination.
Janice Hechter is a Connecticut author and illustrator.
Registration required. Registration opens one month before the program at 7:00pm.
