In the lead-up to West Hartford Reads with Nick Hornby, we're showing four of his films. Please register for each screening you'd like to attend.

 

8/21: Brooklyn (based on the novel by Colm Tóibín, screenplay by Nick Hornby), 3pm

An Irish immigrant lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance with a local. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

 

8/28: Wild (based on the memoir by Cheryl Strayed, screenplay by Nick Hornby), 4pm

A chronicle of one woman's 1,100-mile solo hike undertaken as a way to recover from a recent personal tragedy.

 

9/5: About a Boy (based on the novel by Nick Hornby), 3pm

Will, who attends single parent meetings to woo women, meets Marcus, a troubled 12-year-old boy. As they become friends, Will learns to be responsible while he helps Marcus with his studies.
