Grades 8-12: WHiT is a community group committed to empowering immigrant youth to be leaders. We offer teens opportunities to participate in town-wide events, engaging in activism and celebrating diverse cultural holidays and traditions. The Building Connections Book Club is for West Hartford Advanced English learners who want to develop their English reading and communication skills in a diverse, inspiring, and encouraging environment. Participants will be given reading material each week and then meet in a group to ask questions and discuss the text.

If you are a speaker of a language other than English and you would like to practice your English, join us every Friday morning at the Faxon Library! This is an adult intermediate level English class for people with some English experience, who can hold some conversations speaking about everyday topics and personal preferences. The class will review grammar basics, learn how to offer and request advice, talk about plans, and fix common mistakes in English pronunciation.

Join your fellow fiction writers monthly on the second Monday over to give and receive feedback. A knowledgeable volunteer moderator is selected from the group each month. New attendees are welcome! Only those attending regularly qualify to have their fiction reviewed by the group. Meetings are held in a hybrid format, both in person and over Zoom.
